New on KaraFun Business: Smarter Room Controls with Demo & Blocked Modes

Demo Mode: Keep the Music Playing When You’re Not

Want to keep the energy up between sessions? With Demo Mode, you can now automatically play songs from the top 300 whenever a room is not in use.

How it works:

  • Demo Mode can be enabled for any room directly from your dashboard.
  • When active, KaraFun Business will automatically play a top track unless there’s an active or completed session.
  • Works with all versions of the app (Free or Locked).

To ensure it’s clear the app is in demo mode, a non-interactive overlay will appear. A pause button is available on this overlay if you need to stop the music temporarily. Once paused, demo mode can be resumed from the settings or simply by restarting the app — and it will pick up right where it left off.

While Demo Mode is running:

  • Remote controls are disabled.
  • Queue and playback cannot be modified.
  • Volume is reset to a default value for a consistent experience.

This is the perfect way to showcase KaraFun Business in action and fill the silence between sessions without any manual input.

Blocked Mode: Total Control Between Sessions

Looking for tighter control of your setup outside of active hours? Blocked Mode ensures KaraFun Business only works during a business session, helping you avoid unplanned use and maintain a consistent customer experience.

Choose your default mode:

From the dashboard, you can now define what happens when no session is running:

  • Free Mode: Users can interact freely with the app.
  • Blocked Mode: The app becomes inactive unless a session is running.

When Blocked Mode is enabled:

  • The app mutes audio and blocks any interactions.
  • A fullscreen modal appears after the current song finishes, letting your team know the app is locked.
  • Playback is only allowed if Demo Mode is active.
  • A settings password is required to unlock the app.
  • You can also manually lock the app anytime with a new “Lock Screen” button in the settings.

All of this works automatically via your KaraFun Business session data, making setup effortless and secure.
