Internet requirements to run KaraFun Business

KaraFun Business operates primarily through streaming. A stable Wi-Fi connection is essential for a smooth and uninterrupted experience. While wired connections remain ideal, we know that most venues rely on wireless (Wi-Fi) setups. Here’s what we recommend to ensure optimal performance.

Recommended Wi-Fi Setup

  • Connection type: High-speed internet with a professional-grade Wi-Fi router (fiber recommended).
  • Stability over speed: A stable connection is more important than maximum bandwidth. Prioritize a consistent, drop-free signal.
  • Coverage: Make sure every karaoke room has strong Wi-Fi coverage. Use dedicated access points or repeaters if needed.

Why a Good Wi-Fi Connection Matters

  • Fast loading of songs from the KaraFun online catalog
  • Access to live features such as:
    • Remote control for guests to manage the session from their smartphone
    • Quiz mode, where guests use their smartphone as a buzzer
    • Catalog updates and real-time content availability

Offline Mode: Emergency Use Only

If your internet connection is temporarily unavailable, KaraFun Business offers an offline mode. You can pre-download the entire catalog, allowing karaoke sessions to continue.

Limitations of Offline Mode

  • No access to the mobile remote control
  • No access to Quiz mode
  • No access to new song releases or catalog updates

For venues with multiple karaoke rooms, we recommend using offline mode only in emergency situations.

Wi-Fi Tips for Reliable Operation

  • Use a professional-grade router (e.g., Ubiquiti, Netgear Pro)
  • Place access points close to each room or use a mesh system
  • Avoid using public or overloaded Wi-Fi networks
  • Regularly test signal strength in every room using tools like Speedtest
